1. Who We Are

Radiant Rift ("we", "us", "our") is a dark-fantasy RPG operated as a Discord Activity at radiant-rift.com and via the Discord embedded application platform. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@radiant-rift.com.

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data received from Discord

When you launch Radiant Rift inside Discord, we receive the following information from the Discord SDK, solely for the purpose of identifying your game account:

• Discord User ID — a numerical identifier assigned by Discord. This is our primary key for linking your game save to your account.
• Discord username — used as your default hero name if you have not chosen one.
• Display name — your Discord global name, used for display purposes within the game.
• Avatar hash — used to construct your Discord avatar URL for display in the game UI. We do not store the image itself.

We do not request access to your email address, phone number, friends list, messages, or any other Discord data beyond the fields listed above.

2.2 Game progress data

We store the following gameplay data on our servers to allow your game to persist between sessions:

• Your hero name and chosen Radiant Mark (class)
• Character level, experience points, and stat progression
• Quest and story progress
• Inventory, equipment, and crafted items
• Currency balances (Gold, Veilcore Fragments, Crucible Seals)
• Alchemy, foraging, and forge progression
• Radiant Path investments
• PvP ranking and match history
• Social data: friend relationships and party membership

2.3 Feedback

If you submit feedback through the in-game feedback button, we store the text of your message along with a timestamp, the game section you submitted from, and a reference to your account. Feedback is stored in a plain-text log and is never executed or processed as code.

2.4 Technical and session data

Our servers may log standard HTTP request metadata such as IP addresses and request timestamps for security and debugging purposes. These logs are not linked to your gameplay profile and are retained for a maximum of 30 days.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above exclusively to:

• Identify your game account and load your save data
• Display your name and avatar within the game
• Record and persist your in-game progress
• Power social features (friends, party, leaderboards)
• Improve the game based on submitted feedback
• Detect and investigate abuse, cheating, or security incidents

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with any external service beyond those listed in Section 5.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:

• Contractual necessity — processing your Discord ID and game progress is necessary to provide the service you have requested (playing the game).
• Legitimate interests — we process technical log data to ensure the security and stability of our service.
• Consent — where you voluntarily submit feedback through the in-game form.

5. Third-Party Services

Radiant Rift relies on the following third-party services to operate:

Discord Inc.

Radiant Rift is hosted as a Discord Activity. Discord processes your account data under their own privacy policy, available at discord.com/privacy. We have no control over Discord's data practices.

Hostinger

Our game server and database are hosted on infrastructure provided by Hostinger International Ltd. Game data stored on our servers resides on Hostinger's infrastructure. Hostinger's privacy policy is available at hostinger.com/privacy-policy.

ImageKit

Game images (character art, backgrounds, enemy thumbnails) are served via ImageKit. No personal data is shared with ImageKit; requests are for static asset files only.

ElevenLabs

Voice-over audio used in story sequences is generated via ElevenLabs and stored as static audio files. No user data is transmitted to ElevenLabs during gameplay.

6. Data Retention

Your game account and progress data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, contact us at privacy@radiant-rift.com and we will process your request within 30 days.

Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted automatically.

Feedback log entries are retained for up to 12 months for the purpose of product improvement and then permanently deleted.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your account and data.
• Right to restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data.
• Right to data portability — receive your game data in a structured format.
• Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

8. Children's Privacy

Radiant Rift is intended for users aged 13 and over, consistent with Discord's minimum age requirement. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at privacy@radiant-rift.com and we will delete the account and associated data promptly.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including server-side validation, access controls, and keeping software dependencies up to date. No system is completely secure; if you discover a security issue, please report it responsibly to security@radiant-rift.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the game or on this website. Your continued use of Radiant Rift after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
